About This Listing

Kui Karinya means Welcome Peaceful Home

We aim to provide a pet-friendly experience that is enjoyable and fun for both humans and dogs. Our bed and breakfast is comfortable accommodation consisting of a large bedroom, bathroom and adjoining living room with a microwave, kettle, and toaster. All the guest accommodation is part of the main house, which is shared with the owner. There are locks on any adjoining doors for your privacy.

The house is set on 1.9 acres of picturesque grounds with an idyllic creek, deep enough for your dog to swim in and is fully fenced and 99% secure. There is also a fully fenced area adjacent to the accommodation, should you wish to contain your dog.

A continental breakfast is included, or if you prefer a cooked breakfast, this can be arranged at an additional charge.

Your dog is a special guest at Kui Karinya. The owner Jane has many years of dog training experience and competed in Agility, Dancing with Dogs, Obedience, Rally O, and Trick Dog Training. Limited Agility equipment can be set up if requested. If required, dog training consultations are available. Please enquire about rates if you are interested. Or, you can leave your dog to roam the gardens, sniffing and exploring.

Dogs are allowed inside. If your dog sleeps in a crate, please bring it along as there is plenty of room. If your dog prefers to sleep on the sofa or bed, covers are provided to protect the furniture, so we kindly request you make use of them.

Outside the living area, there is a fenced-in covered veranda. This has a small fridge, toaster oven and induction plate for cooking on a nice day. In the paddock, there is a beautiful outdoor oasis with solar lights, a fire pit, and grill. Enjoy an evening under the stars with your dogs by your side. Firewood is provided.

Mapleton is the closest town, which is only a few minute's drive. They have a variety of shops and eating places. A short scenic drive across the top of the range takes you to Montville, then onto Maleny. The nearest beach is approximately 30 minutes drive away.

In this area TV reception isn’t great, so a computer is available which has tv channels installed. Free WiFi is also available.

Please note, the guest accommodation is part of the main house and the bathroom and toilet is shared.

Kui Karinya is a quaint and peaceful property with a lovely garden area nestled in the Hinterland. Jane the host was very friendly and accommodating to requests. She does have her own dog "Brodie" who she keeps in her section of the house. The bedroom/bed is very comfortable and the shower very good. The living area is a small annex but still cosy with a nice aspect. You will find what you need in there including a microwave and small fridge. TV reception is accessed through the computer if desired. If you are after a quiet getaway with your fur friend/s to "check out" for a while and to explore the beautiful surrounding regions, this is the place for you. If however you are one that wants to stay connected to all the mod cons then this place may not suit.

Jane is a very welcoming host. The accommodation is clean and comfortable. Access is via the undercover carport, through the laundry and bathroom into the bedroom. Plenty of room in the bedroom for the soft dog bed we took for our pooch. Our bed was very comfortable with quality linen. There is a sitting room off the bedroom where Jane provides plenty of supplies for a self-catering breakfast, tea and coffee and there is a small fridge, microwave and kettle. Off this room is a fenced patio with table and chairs with plenty of room for the pooch to rest. Also an electric hotplate is provided here with frypan and saucepan. There is a gate for access to the large fenced yard, and if desired another gate through to the very large fenced paddock. The house is situated in a quiet rural setting, and only a few minutes from Mapleton where the hotel has amazing views and great for lunch.

My partner and I took our 2 Papillons for a weekend getaway. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the owner Jane and her boxer Brodie. The accommodation was excellent with everything you need and more, it was very cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable. The grounds are very dog friendly with plenty of room to explore. The continental breakfast Jane provides was amazing and more then enough food. We really enjoyed our time there, an excellent getaway for those with dogs. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jane and Brodie.

Jane was a wonderful host, more than willing to go out of her way for anything we needed. The house was very well organised for two dogs to stay in separately. Private spacious bathroom and toilet which were also spotless clean and all the kitchen accessories needed. The property is large and green perfect for dogs to roam/run around. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone in the area.

Great time. Two people and the dog. Lovely owner - met our every need. Even lit a fire in the newly installed pot belly stove - we ended up cooking dinner on it by the fire. Dog had a great time - so much room for him to run freely. Breakfast was so much food - perfect. Bed warm and comfy, very hot shower and a campfire by a lovely running creek before retiring to a warm bed. Was pretty much the perfect B and B for two with our dog.

A very safe dog friendly property, and also a comfy retreat for their owners who would like to relax and/or explore the sites of the hinterland.

This is a lovely pet-friendly property. Jane, the host, was very friendly. I went with my 2 dogs who both had a great time running around the beautiful, fully-fenced garden. The bedroom was cosy and the shower was great. I also liked that Jane provided some "dog" blankets to drape over the lounge and bed for those dogs who are used to sleeping on furniture...

Jane is very welcoming and offers you privacy if you want it or is happy to chat as well. She offers great tips for dog training and the agility course is an added bonus if you're up for it. She even invited me to try one of the obstacles with my dog who had never done been it before. Top marks for my dog learning to run through the tunnel. The bed is comfortable and the living quarters are cosy. Such a relaxing environment with plenty of room to roam in the separately fence paddock.

Great location, peaceful and quiet and ample space for dogs to run around. Jane was very hospitable and accomodating and friendly and helpful in directing us to where we needed to go and find things. Not a lot of places like this. Thanks we will visit again!

It is hard to find somewhere suitable to stay with a large dog and this property is perfect. Peaceful and safe with plenty of room to run and explore. Wonderful to be able to have my dog sleep inside beside the bed too. Jane really understands dogs and dog people so can appreciate every ones individual needs. Both Jazz and I really enjoyed our stay!

Without doubt one of the best weekend's away I have had for quite some time. Rok and I felt welcome and comfortable from our first Hello and meet and greet at the property gate to the time we left. The accommodation is cosy and very comfortable with everything you and your pupper could possibly require provided to ensure a very comfortable and happy stay. The property grounds are simply "stunning" with garden area and exceptionally well maintained Park like area complete with fresh water creek and waterhole where your pupper can swim if they want as well. The firepit area is delightful and provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy a few quiet vino's and BBQ by an open fire. Our hosts Jane and Brodie quite simply exceeded my expectations as to how pleasant our stay would be. I could see from the website that it looked like a "great Doggy B & B" but it is more than that. Thank you Jane and Brodie for opening up your home and giving us the opportunity to share in what I think i

Firstly, Jane is an amazing host and is so lovely, she made us feel very welcome. This place is truly relaxing with the sound of the creek running and the birds chirping. The dogs loved smelling all the beautiful gardens and had a ball out in the paddock. The accommodation is well appointed, and beautifully presented. We were able to watch the Friday night footy on the computer, which was a bonus. There are books to read and board games to play, we spent many hours playing $Greed, which I'm now addicted too. I highly recommend this stay, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely place with a wonderful hostess. My son, our dog and I enjoyed our stay at Jane's property. It was a relaxing holiday for us connecting with nature and our dog loved exploring the garden. Comfortable bedroom with annex and a spacious bathroom. Scrumptious breakfast. Jane was very helpful and informative. Highly recommend this accommodation and hope to stay here again.

This unique property is stunning with beautiful gardens, big open grassy paddock with a tranquil little creek that runs along side. Jane was an amazing host who goes above and beyond for her guests both 2 legged and 4 legged. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations! We all had the most relaxing stay and was great to enjoy the time with our dogs Gracie & Samson. We will be back!

The dogs and I had the most amazing time! The dogs loved the creek, exploring and all the open space. I loved how quiet and relaxing the place was. I took the opportunity to get some training tips from Jane which I've applied back at home. The dogs slept the whole drive home. We're going to be back!

From the moment we arrived until we left Jane and Brodie went above and beyond to make sure we and the fur children felt welcome, comfortable and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for Jane. The dogs loved the safe and secure paddock to run in and enjoyed the creek. The breakfast supplied was delicious and filling, no need to worry about lunch. Jane's attention to detail meant everything had been thought and then some. Beautiful and tranquil surrounds with plenty to do nearby if you wished to venture out, but why would you!!. We left as two relaxed humans and two tired happy dogs. We can't wait to go back again and test out the outdoor sitting area and have a fire when it's cooler. The little secure sitting area was the perfect spot for sunset drinks and dinner. Our dogs were so keen each morning to get out and have a run that there was no need to set an alarm. Thank you Jane for a wonderful stay and allowing us to enjoy your wonderful surroundings.

This little sanctuary is perfect for getting away from our busy & stressful life - so relaxing and quiet with the tumbling of creek water & birds the only sounds. Jane was great company & excellent host. She had my dog loving some training & agility - my Golden loved exploring in the yard & of course swim in the creek - just beautiful. Very comfortable stay & perfect location in the foothills - will definitely come again for some R&R. Thanks so much Jane & Brodie

Immaculate property, close to both Mooloolaba and Mapleton. My partner and I enjoyed the quiet location and Mhug (our dog) loved having access to the large yard, gardens and paddock. Jane was very accomodating and her love of dogs shows in every aspect of this B&B.

In summary the dogs loved it at Jane's place! Plenty of space to run, explore (even the garden beds!) and swim in the creek. It was doggy heaven and even the drives to the beaches, creeks and parks were interesting. Jane was a lovely host and the accommodation was great for our 3 day stay. Fantastic place to stay with our 4-legged companions. Thank you Jane and Brody

Beautiful setting with a lovely area for the dog to run plus having the creek for him to cool off in was an added bonus. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and lots of comfortable touches. Continental breakfast was great and our host, Jane was very friendly and helpful - felt like nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend this place to get away with your fur baby.

You will be glad you decided to stay here. Such a lovely, dog-friendly property. The property is in a beautiful setting, with plenty of areas to sit and enjoy or vast and fenced areas for the dogs to run. It's very peaceful and the host, Jane, is very hospitable. She is friendly, yet respectful of your privacy also. The area of the house you are allocated, is very comfortable with everything you could need and feels like a home away from home. Both myself and my kelpie x cattle dog Bluey thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

We had a very relaxing stay with Jane and Brodie, the boxer. Jane supplied us with an abundance of good healthy food. We decided to stay with continental breakfasts rather than cook our own - we are on holidays so staying out of the kitchen was essential. The outdoor cooking area on our verandah was well organised and we could eat outdoors for breakfast or indoor in our own dining/lounge area. We chose to keep the dogs mainly outside as we were unlucky enough to have wet, overcast weather for all but the last day of our stay. Having said that we still had plenty of room to share with our dogs on the verandah. Our two small dogs Mingdon Kara and Jackson (Japanese Chins, aged 7 and 2 respectively) absolutely loved the great outdoors. They spent lots of time exploring in a well fenced environment. Our two dogs were crated at night but ideally they could have slept on the enclosed verandah outside of our "unit". Our choice to crate them. Jane also offered dog training which I enjoyed

We found paradise just below Mapleton in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Kui Karinya for K9 Happiness is the most beautiful property with wonderful gardens, plenty of lush lawn and a clear running creek all meaning plenty of space to play play play for the dogs and hoomans alike. Jane is the most welcoming and relaxed host and took the time to interact with us and the pointer sisters! She offered some great advice regarding beginning agility & building communication with the girls. Her Brody is the most beautiful soul & was quite accepting of out loonies ;) The accommodation included a fenced outdoor area, a living room, bed room & bathroom with access to the laundry if required. Jane thought of everything from water bowls (& top up water bottles), extra towels and blankets for the dogs as well as all the creature comforts for us bigger people as well (inc dressing gowns for the cooler climate). Toiletries were lovely L'occitane, the bed was warm and very comfy and there's a heater if r

Jane and her beautiful Boxer girl Brodie were fabulous hosts for me and my Boxer cross Max. The unit had everything that we could possibly need and more and was comfortable, warm and friendly. The weather wasn't in our favor for the entire stay, but we still managed to make use of the property for good walks to stretch people and puppy legs. We look forward to staying again for a great hassle free get away.

Thank you to Jane and Broome for opening their space up for us and letting us holiday with our furbabies. The space is so lovely with your own personal "white noise" machine with the running creek outside the bedroom. The human space is cosy and everything has been thought of. Jane is such a gracious host - happy to help with anything. I will definitely recommend to all my friends and will also recommend on our pet Facebook pages. Such a relaxing time without having to panic how our dogs were doing without us and the fact that everything has been thought of from dog towels to poop bags. Will definitely go again!

Jane was a superb host! We loved her, and so did our dogs. We angaged Jane for a bit of reward training for our mischevious older dog, and within a short time she was learning to respond, and I learned what I need to do to improve her behaviour in future. Lovely spot, lovely yard for the dogs, comfy bed, everything you need for a relaxing break.

My 13 year old curly coated retriever and 14 month old chesapeake bay retriever had a fabulous holiday exploring Jane's fenced abundant gardens and playing fetch in the adjoining green paddock. Both large dogs were able to sleep inside which was great for my mischievous puppy. We could fit a 42" crate and dog bed in the living area, and they could also sleep on the sofa or carpet beside the bed. Continental breakfast was plentiful and the extra dog towels were a bonus for drying off my dogs. The bed is very comfy and bathroom has excellent shower pressure. While there is no air-conditioning, the fans were sufficient along with the cooler temperature overnight to combat the humidity during our stay over Christmas. I highly recommend the pizza from Bella Vista Pizza & Pasta in Mapleton (3 min drive away) which was thankfully open on Christmas day! Jane is a lovely host and very nice about my dogs' slight trampling on her garden beds and my puppy's occasional barking. Thank you ag

My two dogs and I had the first real holiday we have had in a long time. Jane was a gracious host, and has a genuine love of dogs and care for them. The grounds were beautiful and each morning the dogs would get me up early to take them out to run free. It had been raining, so the creek was running and you could hear it from bed at night. A really lovely place to stay with your pups. A great location.

We loved our stay here! It was our first holiday with our dogs & it couldn’t have been more perfect. The location is absolutely beautiful & completely dog friendly. Our dogs loved exploring & running in the paddock, swimming in the gorgeous creek & sniffing in the gardens. They were so happy. Even our energetic Labrador went to bed tired & blissfully content each day. Jane was an exceptional host and is so lovely & kind. The accommodation had everything you needed & more, with lots of thoughtful touches. This place is heaven for dogs and their humans. We will definitely be back.

This was the perfect “escape” that I’d been seeking; a whole week away with my Billie girl, a rescue Border Collie. Jane could not have been more welcoming and considerate. She’d thought of/provided everything that might be needed for both human and dog, with thoughtful touches such as every room having a vase of fresh flowers/greenery from her immaculate garden. The array of breakfast food provided was very generous. Billie loved her swims in the creek, catch ups with the neighbouring cows, romps around the property, and meeting the locals (2 and 4 legged) on our morning walks. She especially had fun with her “nose work” session with Jane! Look out Crufts, here we come! The destinations I’d wanted to visit were all around only 30mins away - after a drive through beautiful countryside - with plenty of dog friendly options. I enjoyed a couple of “drinks-n-nibbles” sessions with Jane, an inspiring person and wonderful company in a tranquil location, sharing stories and laughs. I w

Jane was fantastic and has set up the property for dogs, this is one place when they say they are dog friendly are actually dog friendly, the dogs have their own little yard to go out to and a huge paddock and creek further down on the property, Jane has dog towels, treats, bags, toys and bowls for them and they are allowed everywhere including on the furniture. Jane also has breakfast, tea and coffee station set up in the sun room and a cooking area out on the verandah with a large fridge/ freezer. the bathroom is seperate and huge as well and the accomodation is clean, spacious and comfortable and close to everything. All the restaurants and cafes around are dog friendly and the dog friendly beach is only 30mins away.
