WELCOME to Wombat Valley Wild Country Cabins
Wombat Valley Cabins are set in natural bushland that will tempt you with a rustic lifestyle and scenic beauty that Victoria’s early pioneers and gold miners appreciated. Our 1, 2 and 3, Bedroom Cabins sleep from 2 to 10 people per cabin, they are placed singly or in pairs over 60 acres of quiet natural bushland.
The local country town of Briagolong is an easy fifteen-minute drive from Wombat Valley where the local pub offers excellent meals Wednesday to Sunday and the Riverstone Cafe offers great meals and coffee seven days and Pizza Friday and Saturday nights. Supplies of fuel, food and other needs can be obtained at the general store* and garage.
Set in natural bush setting
At Wombat Valley you stay in early settlers style cabins, built in the drop log fashion of the early – 1900’s. Each cabin has a large open log fireplace built from local stone, which will provide ample warmth on the coldest winter nights.
The kitchen is well equipped with all your crockery cutlery and cooking equipment you will need, large gas fridge, woodfire stoves that will cook the best roasts, for that quick cuppa in the morning gas cooktops and for that nice steak outdoor gas BBQs. There is instant gas hot water in the shower and indoor toilet. Gas lighting in each room also adds to the rustic atmosphere. Your indoor fire wood is supplied at the cabins.
Experience
Offering a glamping experience, at Wombat Valley you’re able to experience the perks of a digital detox without going “camping”. You’re able to have the homely features such as a warm cosy bed to hop into at night, indoor heating by the fire and the “essentials” of a hot shower, lighting and indoor toilet!
Glamping is the outdoor experience without having to give up some of the home “essentials” you would if you packed your swag or tent to go camping in the high country.
BONUS we even allow you four legged family members to join you on this experience! Bring your pets!

Location
Wombat Valley is approximately a three-hour drive east of Melbourne and backs onto the Lower Dargo State Forest, with easy access to some great 4×4 tracks for the inexperienced and experienced, and beautiful walking tracks at your cabin door.
Although Wombat Valley is surrounded by natural bush, access is easily reached by conventional vehicles.
Wombat Valley is located in the East Gippsland high country (close to Sale, Stratford and Maffra). The property is owned by Ken & Donnella Faulks who will be your host and guide.
The Goanna Cabin is located closely in pair with The Wallaby Cabin. Each cabin has one bedroom, separate livingroom, kitchen/eating, bathroom and toilet.
