The villagey foothills are such a sweet spot in the east that offer a relaxed way of life with its numerous park-lands full of native plants. You can breathe the fresh mountain air without actually trekking up it here . This home faces the mountain and is next to a park.

This glorious, single-level modern 4 large bedroom house has all your comfy furniture, bath towels, linen, doonas, rice cooker, utensils, cutlery, crockery, Chinese rice bowls, chopsticks, wine and champagne glasses, and essentials. Just bring your personal items.

This third of an acre offers a laid-back lifestyle with all the regular conveniences without the inner city headaches. The whole house has central heating available.

LIVING AREA

There are 2 large comfortable leather couches to relax with the home entertainment.

There is a wall mounted 50 inch Panasonic smart TV in the living room, and a Sony 4X 45 inch smart TV in the main bedroom, and both have Netflix movies, streaming thousands of movies, documentaries, TV shows and kids movies for cosy nights and wet days. Connected to the TV is a Sonos sound bar to provide hifi listening to your favourite music and Show A Nintendo wii and games and a DVD player, and a supply of family movies on DVD, and books, as well is connected an Apple TV to provide Airplay, Youtube and other internet videos.
Free high speed wireless internet is available all the time. WiFi The large living room has several windows, facing Mount Dandenong Ranges and lets in plenty of natural light, and is adjacent to the dining room and kitchen. You can sit and enjoy the mountains view.

KITCHEN

The kitchen, which faces the large private garden, has plenty of natural light and room for cooking. There is a dishwasher and lots of cupboards with cooking pots and pans. We provide breakfast cereal and fresh milk to start your stay, as well as tea, coffee, Milo, biscuits, etc.

4 LARGE BEDROOMS

We supply high quality bed covers and pillow cases and all linen and doonas and covers.
The main bedroom is large and has a King sized bed and a big Sony 4X 45 inch smart TV with Netflix streaming thousands of movies and a full-length mirror.

The second room is large and has a queen sized bed and full length mirror. The third room is large and has a queen sized bed and full-length mirror. The 4th bedroom has 2 comfy real single beds. Up to 8 people can stay here comfortably. A cot can be set up.

Please specify your bedding arrangement so we can try to set up a spare bed if available. BATHROOM The bathroom has a bath and a shower.

There is a supply of shampoo and soap and high quality bath towels, face towels and mats. The toilet is private and next to the bathroom with its own door. Next room is the large laundry with a brand new toilet. It has a brand new AEG 8kg load washer and a dryer.

There is a supply of detergent.

OUTDOORS

The large back garden 1.95 metre high fenced is the perfect outdoor space for you or a family to relax. Enjoy the moveable 3 gas burner barbecue anywhere in the garden.
The fabulous large outdoor table set has many comfortable outdoor chairs and room for 8 people. More tables are spread around. A large garden bench seat is there for enjoying the view. The wide driveway allows free parking for 4 cars. More cars can park in the wide and quiet street at no charge. The house has a security front door, and the driveway is secured by a large gate and fences all around, also providing privacy.

Guest access

The house is wheelchair friendly with only two steps up at the back door. The appearance may vary from the photographs shown here, due to upgrades, specific requirements of patrons and repairs. We are always upgrading to provide improved comfort for our guests. This house has polished floors and rugs.

Guest interaction

We will arrange to provide you with a key. If possible, we will welcome you at the house and show you where everything is and how to use it. Once you know everything, we will leave you to enjoy your stay.

Neighbourhood overview

This neighbourhood is very safe and peaceful and lies in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. There is a fantastic view of Mount Dandenong. There are many busses passing through to take you shopping, to the city, or up the mountains. There are fitness and sport centres a short walk away, where you can play basketball, badminton, table tennis and a swimming pool is nearby. But still there is natural fresh air all around with the native trees. You can eat at the many cafes or walk in the parks.

Getting around

It is an easy drive of less than 40 minutes to Melbourne City, or the Mornington Penninsula beaches for an uninterrupted drive of 45 minutesvia Eastlink. From the house, it is a 4 minute walk to the bus stop for transport everywhere and Croydon Train Station. The train takes 40 minutes to Flinders Street in the City of Melbourne. Enjoy the fresh farmers market once per month. This home is close to The Dandenong Ranges, with everything they have to offer, including views of the whole City of Melbourne, Olinda with the Gold Medal winning pies from the very popular Pie in the Sky restaurant, the Cuckoo all-you-can eat Bavarian buffet and live German music and singing. Sassafras has the popular Miss Marple's restaurant serving the delicious Sunday Best desert.

Next door to that is a tea house, selling all types of tea and ancient and modern tea pots and chocolate. You will enjoy the Flippin Pancakes restaurant. Of course, there are many more specialty restaurants, cafes and gift shops.

Enjoy bush-walks, such as William Ricketts Sanctuary which is made of hand carved statues and is a stimulating walk with ferns and nativeforest around. National Rhododendron Gardens are there for the florists among us. There is fruit picking in season, including cherries and strawberries. Other natural delights include waterfalls and One Thousand Steps. The list goes on.

The Magnificent Yarra Valley is nearby, and hosts many wineries clustered together, including the famous Domaine Chandon Winery, and Rochford Winery.

The Yarra Valley Dairy is always busy with cheese tasting. "Life is for living, wine is for sharing. Life is covered and relaxed."

Puffing Billy is a private steam train running daily tours through the Dandenong Ranges and forest. The house is a short walk to Churinga Shopping Centre, which has Australia's largest 3 supermarkets, called Coles, Woolworths and Aldi.

On the corner is a 7-Eleven convenience shop, open 24 hours, and local cafes and retail shops including McDonalds and Red Rooster.. It is a short walk to the BMX bike track and Dorset Public Golf Course. 5 minutes drive from the house, is the local famous Hahndorf chocolate cafe, with a children's big playground next to it.

Swinburne University, Croydon campus is only 3 minutes away from the house, by car, or a 30 minute walk. This lovely house is in a residential neighborhood. For this reason, we expect you to respect the neighbors privacy, please. It is a drive of 3 minutes to the Canterbury Gardens Shopping Centre. There is a Woolworths supermarket

Open 24 hours next to Kilsyth Club. Turn right onto Canterbury Road and drive a few minutes to the Heathmont Golf Park, which has mini-golf. It is 5 km to Maroondah Hospital and the new Ringwood Eastland Shopping Centre which is large and is just at the beginning of Mount Dandenong Road. This has cinemas and department stores and lots of cafes and restaurants and retail shops and supermarkets.

We are close to the Bram Leigh wedding reception centre.

Other things to note

We have the whole house thoroughly cleaned and disinfected professionally after each guest leaves. Please don't wash any of our linen and towels when you check out. We will disinfect them all. And please, the towels are only for personal use, and not for shoes and animals.
