A 2 bedroom self contained loft house with views to Mt Kosciouszko. 30 minutes drive to the ski resorts of Thredbo and Perisher. 20 minutes to the National Park Entry. 15 minutes down to Lake Jindabyne. Set on 86 acres within a wider farm environment the loft has its own fence line. You can stay warm by the fire or venture outside for walks. Views in all directions and south looks into Victoria and the Dalgety plains below. All fire wood and linen is supplied, but pack clothes for all weather conditions. It can snow and become windy in any season, note that Jindabyne is below the winter snow line so snow falls will return to grass within days of a snow fall. The loft is on a peak of a range with some flat areas for dog play. The farm animals and wild life can not get into the loft fence line. The most common time for snow views is April to October with light snowfall on the property occasionally. The lake and national park are great for walking, swimming or biking in the summer seasons. Set a slower pace and read a book or have a BBQ. It is relaxed environment and all people and dogs are welcome. 2 hours from Canberra. 5 from Sydney and 6 from Melbourne. Winter prices are higher due to demand and the extra heating costs. There is ample provision of firewood and 3 ski sleds. A great time to stay is just before ski season or just after as there is snow around but the crowds have reduced and the prices drop. It is my favorite time of year, but summer and lake activities make a summer lake holiday very affordable at times when the beach can be very expensive.
