Tara House Bairnsdale is a gracious Victorian home built in 1890 close to the Gippsland Lakes and Alpine High Country. The Ballerina Room is a themed decorated private room with Queen bed for two people, own bathroom, shared dining room and lounge.
The Ballerina room at Tara House, Bairnsdale is furnished with a comfortable made-up Queen size bed with new posture-pedic mattress, many ballet pictures and ornaments collected by the owner, a former professional ballerina who danced in both Australia and the United States of America with many ballet and dance companies. Please ask about the history of the items in the room for some fascinating insights into the world of dance and ballet. The ensuite bathroom has a toilet and shower cubicle. All bed linen and towels are supplied and the room has both a ceiling fan and electric panel heater.
Breakfast is self-serve in the Dining Room from 8am - 9am with cereals, bread (for toast), stewed fruits, jams, tea and coffee provided. Complimentary Port and chocolates are available in the Dining Room in the evenings.
The Lounge is available for Guest use up to 12 midnight, with a Television, Upright wooden piano and table space. A free WiFi Internet password is available on request. If guests would like to use the kitchen to cook their own meals please ask. The gardens and verandahs at Tara House are available for guest enjoyment. If you would like to have breakfast on the verandah please make a request. Beautiful grounds, quiet location, 3 mins drive to the Bairnsdale CBD, 5 minute walk to the Mitchell River. Easy driving access to Paynesville, Metung and Lakes Entrance, en route to the Great Alpine Road Resorts, Mallacoota and Merimbula.
Tara House has 3 guest bedrooms (of which the Ballerina Room is one) as well as a shared Dining and Lounge room for guests. The kitchen is available for guests to cook on request. Likewise the laundry for washing and an ironing board can be made available. In normal circumstances guests will not have access to the staff quarters, kitchen or laundry. Please note that the staff quarters are adjacent to the guest quarters at Tara House so guests and staff need to be respectful of sound transference and any noise from televisions, computers, radios, musical instruments and other devices between the hours of 12 midnight and 8am.
