About This Listing

Tambo Trails is a lovely home away from home down a secluded lane where pets can roam at leisure around the two hectares of developing garden or accompany their owner along the East Gippsland Rail Trail where they may see a kangaroo, wombat or echidna.

Tambo Trails provides a peaceful private retreat after
• a day cycling (the Rail Trail that crosses Kettle’s Lane comes from Bairnsdale & continues on to Orbost),
• fishing the Tambo River,
• skiing Dinner Plains,
• sailing the Gippsland Lakes,
• swimming at Lakes Entrance,
• star gazing away from city lights, or
• exploring local villages (eg Metung, Bruthen) or vineyards and orchards where local produce abounds.
• I suggest a visit to The Black Stump at Johnsonville. There is great coffee, pies and cakes.

Please note that the boundary fences of the property are electrified on the farm side of the fence but not the fences around Tambo Trails during your visit. The dam is deep so children should not go near it unsupervised. The Black Cockatoos enjoy the pine cones in summer so beware falling cones along Kettle’s Lane.

Tambo Trails has three bedrooms (Q1 upstairs with ensuite, D1 & S2 downstairs, with bath). It has a fully equipped kitchen, TV & DVD, reverse cycle air conditioning, Coonara wood heater, electric BBQ and washing machine. Instruction manuals are provided. There is an “On/Off” switch on the RHS of the TV.
Tea, coffee and sugar are provided but you will need to bring all other provisions. There is a Coles coffee machine that uses “Caffitaly” pods.
It is not possible to have a power point on the island bench so there are extension cords for your use when plugging in the kettle and coffee making machine. Please take care.
The photo of the farm, Mountain View, hanging by the table in the dining area was taken before Tambo Trails was built and the dam dug. You can see the red gums that frame the dam about a quarter of the way down the left hand side of the photo and Kettle’s lane climbing up the hill.
