Captain’s Cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway with the patrolled Beach No. 1, playground and shops only a short walk away.

Set in a fantastic location this modern and spacious, 3 bedroom home, offers stylish holiday accommodation. (You make also like to view our other similar property Dune Haven.)

A light-filled open plan living area features modern fully-equipped kitchen, spacious dining and lounge area with feature open fire, large HD flats screen TV and Blue Ray player, WiFi and Netflix.

The living area leads to the undercover outdoor area. This is the perfect place to relax with dining setting, outdoor kitchen and rattan lounge with daybed. Polyglazed roofing allows the light in but not the weather. The added protection of bistro blinds makes it an all year-round prospect.

The property has three large bedrooms which can sleep ten. Bed 1 has a queen bed, flat screen TV, en suite and walk-in robe. Bed 2 has been set up as a 'kids retreat', with two sets of bunks (one with double below), trundle bed, bean bags, flat screen TV, DVD and built-in robes. For the 'Thomas the Tank' fans there is a full size 'Thomas' table complete with trains. Bed 3 has a queen bed and built in robes.

PLEASE NOTE: LINEN IS NOT INCLUDED however, with sufficient prior notice, bed sheets, pillow slips and towels can be organised for an additional fee.

The split system air conditioner and wood fire, coupled with the double glazed windows and underfloor insulation, ensure the perfect ambient temperature all year round. Cosy in winter and cool in summer.

The stylish main bathroom features an accessible, large step-less shower and the walk-through laundry includes washing machine. The handy external shower is perfect for rinsing off after a fun day at the beach.

Everything is provided apart from linen and firewood, so we ask our guests to bring their own linen and towels. Pillows, doonas and blankets are provided. Bags of firewood are readily available at the local Venus Bay and Tarwin Lower General Stores.

Plenty of extras provided including books, games and DVD's.

The property is set on a fully fenced corner block making it perfect for families, and provides ample off-street parking.

Animal lovers may enjoy feeding the friendly resident magpies. Keep a look out for Eddie the Echidna who sometimes ventures by on the lookout for some tucker, or adventurous kangaroos who have been known to hop by on occasion.

Whether you want to curl up in front of the fire, spend a day on the beach, or have a quiet relax on the deck, this one's hard to beat.

Terms and Conditions

PLEASE NOTE: LINEN IS NOT INCLUDED however, with sufficient prior notice, bed sheets, pillow slips and towels can be organised for an additional fee.
Guests have access to a fully equipped house and kitchen and can enjoy the large outdoor areas.
Deposits are refunded once the caretaker has confirmed the property was vacated on time and left in a clean and tidy state.

1. Every effort is made to accommodate guests in their preferred property but management reserves the right to make alterations to bookings where necessary.
2. All properties are strictly NO SMOKING indoors. Guests will be asked to leave if found smoking indoors and will be charged a cleaning fee of $50.
3. Bond - We require a bond as security, which is refunded following an inspection of the property once guests have departed. Management reserve the right to inspect the property at any time if they consider the conditions of booking to be broken.
4. Arrival - Check in time is from 12 noon. Departure - the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival, with all dishes done. If the house is not left in a satisfactory state the guest’s bond will be used to accommodate the additional cleaning. Check out time is by 12 noon at the latest, to allow us time to prepare the property for the next guests.
5. Please note that our maximum capacity for the properties is ten (10) people (including children) and under no circumstances can we accommodate above this number. Any additional overnight guests found at the property will be asked to leave.
6. Parties and functions are strictly prohibited. Disturbance to our neighbours, including excessive or late night noise is prohibited and may result in termination of your rental.
7. All children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult during their stay with us.
8. Management reserves the right to ask guests to leave at any time, if any of the above conditions are broken or if guests’ behaviour is considered unruly. No compensation will be offered if your stay is cut short due to bad behaviour and you will be expected to pay for any damage and breakages.
9. Pets are allowed at the discretion of the owners. Guests are responsible for the comfort of their pets (i.e. providing bedding, food & bowls) and the cleaning of all messes. Guests will be charged for any damage caused by pets and a $50p/pet fee for any additional cleaning required eg. picking up dog mess or excessive shedding. Pets are allowed indoors but not in the bedrooms or on the furniture. We ask that guests be mindful of our neighbours and ensure that dogs do not bark constantly.

This is a delightful light, bright and quiet holiday home. We found the home beautifully presented and in a great position walking distance to the general store and main beach. Our pooch loved exploring the native garden and curling up at night in front of the fire!

Location was amazing...walking distance to beach #1 and local shops. Property was modern, clean and offered all the amenities you could need. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
