About This Listing

This charming, secluded two-bedroom mudbrick cottage overlooks a dry creek bed bordered by enormous, century-old gum trees.
With a pot belly stove and fire pit in winter, RC aircon in summer, it's a cosy retreat when you're not exploring the beautiful 35ha property, or local wineries and eateries.

Includes:
Generous provisions for a cooked English Breakfast
Port
BBQ
Made-up beds
Foxtel
Firewood
Near Riesling Trail
En route to the Flinders Ranges

Situated amidst 35 ha of rolling hills, the heritage-style cottage enjoys peaceful rural views, undisturbed by any other building, a front veranda, and a secure, enclosed back courtyard. Wander the extensive paths through the trees, let the kids roam free, and the dog off the lead.

Watch the passing parade of abundant birdlife from the verandah. You may even see a kangaroo or two grazing on the grassy slope.

Cosy winter evenings are made for curling up in front of the pot belly stove and reading a book, or relaxing in front of Foxtel sipping a complimentary glass of port. During balmy summer evenings, you may want to use the BBQ pit by the creek to cook your dinner. There’s plenty of firewood and it’s also the perfect place for frying up your breakfast rations of eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomato.

Depending on the weather, you may choose to use the gas BBQ by the back patio where you can enjoy more lovely, unimpeded vistas of trees and paddocks beyond the secure back courtyard.

The cottage incorporates a charming master bedroom with white-washed walls and Edwardian dressing table. The pretty twin bedroom has sash windows overlooking the verandah, while the slate-floored living room opens onto a dedicated breakfast parlour with French doors leading onto the patio.

It’s a lovely, secluded cottage that exudes warmth and character in a stunning setting, with all the comforts of home.

My friend and I and my Cairn terrier absolutely loved the stay. Very well set up for dogs and we appreciated the guide the host supplied to 'dog friendly' cellar doors in the area, which we followed. An ideal place for dog owners to use as a base to explore the Clare Valley.

Thoroughly enjoyable and restful break for all including the four legged member of the party. Cottage very well set up - particularly the electric blankets in winter.

This is an amazing place to go and stay with dogs. It is peaceful, set in beautiful grounds and has so much space for the dogs to run. Our two loved it. We could sit on the porch and watch them sniff. The cottage was cosy and had all the essentials. We would love to come back and try another cottage on the property as well.

Glen Morris cottage is rustic, comfortable and cozy. It is in a lovely setting with forest just a few steps away. The bird life was amazing, and there were some roos living close-by. It's a short drive into Clare, but far enough that we felt like we were truly away from everything. Bed was super comfy, kitchen was easy to use with good equipment, back enclosed yard was quite small, but adequate - because being winter we were inside mostly. It was a very relaxing time for us, and for our two dogs, who loved all the smells and of course the open space. We also enjoyed the warmth of the combustion heater. Long country walks are what we love doing, so it was perfect. One thing that we did not realise before, is that we had no internet access at all. When we went into Clare, we discovered the free public wi-fi in some areas however. Having Foxtel meant we could watch the odd movie if we wanted. Overall it was a great place to stay and we want to return.
