About This Listing

*NOTE - Price is for four people. Additional charges are for more than four.

Dog-friendly Bronte Manor is the largest of three private, secluded cottages on 35ha of bushland, surrounded by vineyards, 6km N of Clare.

Perched on a hill with beautiful valley views, it sleeps up to 8, with a quirky charm that appeals to those wanting a truly rural location with plenty of space.

With two queen-sized bedrooms and a twin bedroom (+ 2 bathrooms) on the lower floor, and a double bed in the attic, it's ideal for groups of friends or family groups. (We therefore take a minimum of 4 guests with a weekday base price of $300 per night for 4 people + $50 extra per person after that.)

INCLUSIONS:
Cooked and Continental breakfast provisions
Complimentary bottle of Clare Valley wine
A claw-foot bath in each bathroom
Well-stocked kitchen with slow-cooker, full oven, microwave & utensils
Large open fireplace (wood for each evening provided in winter)
Terrace with valley views
2 outside entertaining areas - front and back with 8-piece settings
Open fire pit outside (perfect for toasting marshmallows or cooking dinner)
Gas BBQ on front terrace
Wood BBQ on back terrace (just choose which way the breeze is blowing)
Flat screen TV with DVD player and a choice of DVD’s
CD player & CD’s
Electric blankets
Reverse cycle air conditioning
Fully made-up beds with quality linen + towels
(Port-a-cot, high chair, iron, ironing board available on request)
35ha of open space for your dog to run around in
(Dog enclosure with picket fence - better suited to smaller dogs if visiting wineries, for example)

The Indoor Space

There are four bedrooms and two large bathrooms (with claw-foot baths and shower) on either side of the baronial living room with open fireplace. Two bedrooms are very large and can easily sleep additional camp beds and/or portacots. The large kitchen is very well equipped with full oven and gas stove top, plenty of entertaining platters and cookware, and opens onto a slate terrace with beautiful valley views. Two of the queen bedrooms also have French doors with the same uninterrupted valley views.

Eat dinner at the long, Baronial table in the living room, or around the dining table on the slate terrace. There's a BBQ there, and wonderful sunsets to enjoy.

Bring your bikes to ride the nearby Riesling Trail or around the large property, or a kite to fly on the grassy hill in front of Bronte Manor.
Firewood for two nights is provided, so enjoy a blazing open fire indoors, a BBQ on either the front or back terrace, or a bonfire in the outside fire pit. The large fire pit is near cosy, self-contained Heathcliff Cabin which is a few metres away from the main house and used when there are single groups with more than 8. There is also an additional fold-out bed (and portacot and camp bed) available for extra children, when needed.

Guest access
Bronte Manor is perched on the hill and you will have access to the entire 80acre property (except, of course, the two other cottages which are 100m and 200m away, respectively).

Other things to note
The house is popular for family gatherings, writers' retreats, reunions and Murder Mystery parties.

The large kitchen has an extensive array of pots and pans, slow cookers and decorative serving platters for parties.
During winter, the fire pit outside is very popular for toasting marshmallows and looking at the star-studded sky.

So, bring along your loved ones - your friends, family and furry four-legged friends ... and enjoy the wide-open spaces and all the charm of Bronte Manor!

Please note that during long weekends, there is a three-night minimum/4-guest minimum. During regular weekends and weeknights there is a weekend minimum of four guests.

What a wonderful location and lovely place to stay. We will definitely be back again. Sitting by the warm fire, in comfortable chairs, cooking in the lovely country style kitchen, in a beautiful manor style house, built by the owners out of mud brick, sitting in the hot bath, looking out through leadlight full length windows at the gum trees outside, without seeing another person was definitely the relaxing weekend we ordered. We will be back for sure.

From the very warm welcome (thank you for the fresh eggs, breakfast provisions and bottle of wine and pre-warmed electric blankets on the beds), to the excess of romantic charm throughout the property (complete with a piano and Australian song book) we absolutely loved our stay at Bronte Manor. The pups especially enjoyed the abundant and beautiful bushland surrounds for sniffing about and playing in! Highly recommended!
