The Five Paw Dog-Friendly Accommodation Awards
Check out the winners!

Vote now and win prizes for your favourite holiday places and for your dog.

When you see a current Five Paw certificate on the wall of an accommodation facility or a Five Paw symbol beside a listing in this book you can be sure that you and your pet will be in extra friendly hands.

‘Life. Be in it’, the publishers of Holidaying with Dogs, created the highly prized Five Paws Dog Friendly Accommodation Awards to give special recognition to accommodation facilities that go to special trouble to make dogs welcome.

The most important qualification for Five Paw rating is that accommodation facilities make dogs and their owners feel like valued and welcome guests.

Since there could be no better judges of the dog friendliest accommodation in the country than the dog owners (and dogs) who use them we leave the judging up to you.

We genuinely want to know why you are nominating a facility and why you favour it over the others. All entries will be read by a ‘Life. Be in it’ panel. We value your feedback and offer good prizes for both nominated facilities and voters

Prizes for facilities
Generally there’s only one Five Paw Award winner in each state for each edition of Holidaying with Dogs, but because of the disparity between the numbers of guests accommodated by various facilities, ‘Life. Be in it’ may at its discretion award more than one winner per state, depending on feedback from voters.
The winning facility (or facilities) in each state will receive a framed winner’s certificate and a free half page display advertisement in the next edition of Holidaying with Dogs plus a Nature’s Gift dog treats prize pack.
Other facilities that receive a large number of reader nominations will be granted Five Paw rating in the next edition and sent certificates of recognition. All five paw rated properties will also receive a Nature’s Gift dog treats prize pack.

Prizes for dogs and owners
The first three entries judged by a panel appointed by ‘Life. Be in it’ to be the most credible, relevant and original will each win a Nature’s Gift prize pack.
Each Nature’s Gift prize pack will contain their unique range of all natural complete and balanced canned and semi-dry food and natural treats for up to six months, depending on the age and type of dog.
The twenty next-best entries will each receive a free copy of the next edition of Holidaying with Dogs and a Nature’s Gift Glad Wags 225g dog treat.

Voting is easy
All you need to do to make a nomination is send us:

  • the name of the facility you want to nominate
  • the reasons why you are making the nomination (no more than 200 words please)
  • your dog’s name and breed
  • your own name and address, phone number, email or other contact details.

Entries should be mailed to:
Life. Be in it’ Five Paw Award
PO Box 692
Port Melbourne Victoria 3207
Or fax: 03 5237 7015
Or email to dogs@life.net.au

Conditions
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
This is a skill-based competition, not a game of chance. Winners will be selected on the basis of the relevance, originality and credibility of their explanations. Because facilities that cater for limited numbers of guests can’t attract the same number of votes as large ones, ‘Life.Be in it’ may at its discretion declare more than one Five Paw Rating Award winner per state. No award will be given in a state unless the number of nominations received for a facility is judged to be significant in the light of the location and capacity of
the facility.

Entries close September 15 2008.
